Season for giving
Christmas is the season for giving. You can give presents, or you can give in multiple other ways. To invite and open your doors is a part of Christmas. Another understanding of the phrase ‘to give’? could be to leave your door open and to welcome an unexpected guest. Hospitality is a part of Christmas.

Most people need to buy a few gifts. For those of us, who did not make it yet, the gifts most of all represent an element of stress. If the wish lists are not sufficient, or if inspiration is welcome, read on below, where we will convey some good ideas that might help catch up before the Christmas break:

1) What is better in January than a spa treatment – for instance ‘Energizer’, which have a vitalizing effect, or during Christmas “Christmas Time Out”. A gift certificate to Avalon Spa can be purchased in our webshop and will be sent by mail within 3 days, but only in Scandinavia.

2) Christmas tea from Perchs Thehandel in Kronprinsensgade (Copenhagen), where just entering the store is an experience in itself. Perchs Thehandel is not only a store, but a shop as in the old days. Afterwards you can enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of cake in Perch's Tea Room above.

3) A gift certificate to a brunch at the Glyptotek. On Sundays, there is free entry and you can have your brunch served to the sound of water trickling in the fountain in the winter garden. A nice place to forget the fact that it is winter.

4) Do your shopping in Fisken (DanChurchAid) in Skt. Peders Stræde, if you would like to support a good cause. The shop sells a selection of second-hand clothes, furniture and design of its own brand - second-hand clothes redesigned by volunteer designers.

5) At the Carlsberg Visitors Center, Gammel Carlsberg Vej, is an almost secret shop hidden behind the old brewery, where you can get the nicest old skool sweatshirts and lots of other sports wear. In addition, you have access to the city's cheapest and largest selection of the Carlsberg beer production next door.

6) If you mainly want to cut down on expenses, it might be a good idea to squeeze a little trip to Sweden into the program. Of course you will spend most of a day on the trip, but as the exchange rate is very favourable at the moment, you will save 20 - 25% on everything.
